Booking Agents

Booking agents usually work at booking agencies and play a key role in shaping an artist’s live performance strategy — in other words: how, when, and where the artist performs.
Booking agents work closely with artist managers and other key personnel to align live performances with different aspects of an artist’s career. They organise concerts and tours in line with release schedules and other key milestones.

Early in a career, booking agents can be instrumental in placing artists at the right showcase festivals and in front of potential partners. Formal contracts are rare, but booking agents typically take a 10% commission on the gross income from the concerts they book.
