Export ready
Iceland Music supports the export of Icelandic music in various ways. However, bringing a music project to international audiences can require significant effort, and thorough preparation is essential before taking the next steps.
Iceland Music has outlined a set of criteria for projects to be considered ready for export.
Is your project "export ready"?
- The project's music must be publicly available on all major platforms and streaming services (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music). The most recent release should generally be no older than five years old
- The project should ideally have experience performing live.
- The project should have a defined market strategy. Additionally, it is preferable for the project to have an established framework and be collaborating with agents, record labels, booking agencies, or other industry partners internationally.
- Online promotional materials must be available, including photos, music, and a website. A presence on social media is also recommended where applicable.
To meet the criteria as "Icelandic music artists," the individual or group must:
- Hold Icelandic citizenship OR be a resident of Iceland
- Have recided in Iceland for over a year
- Projects must also be presented as Icelandic or partially Icelandic
