Iceland Music’s Team Expands
The team at Iceland music includes many of the country's leading experts in the music industry, and four new staff members have joined the team in recent months. They are Árni Hjörvar Árnason, Finnur Karlsson, Ólafur Dan Snorrason, and Anna Rut Bjarnadóttir.
Árni Hjörvar possesses extensive experience and expertise across various facets of the music industry. Alongside his musical career with The Vaccines, he has worked as a music producer and part-time music journalist. In recent years, he has shifted his focus to the industry side of the business, taking on advisory roles, project management, and public relations positions with Iceland Music and Business Iceland.
Anna Rut has extensive experience in project and event management in the cultural sector, with a focus on music. With a master's degree in Cultural and Creative Industries from King's College London, she has led diverse projects for music festivals and institutions, such as Iceland Airwaves, Reykjavik Arts Festival, Iceland Music, Reykjavik Music City, as well as leading PR campaigns for musicians and music labels
Ólafur is a trained economist from Aalborg University and has previously worked for the Danish Ministry of Defense and Danmarks Radio. In recent years, Ólafur has worked at the Icelandic Energy Authority, where he served as operations and personnel manager. Ólafur has been involved in music from a young age - he is in two bands and has also been involved in recording.
Finnur Karlsson holds an MMus degree and a postgraduate diploma in composition from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen the Iceland Academy of the Arts. He has worked as a composer, church musician and music teacher, with his works performed by numerous ensembles and orchestras, including Cauda Collective, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Siggi String Quartet, TAK and Århus Sinfonietta.
Iceland Music welcomes Árni, Anna, Finnur and Ólafur.
