OPEN CALL: Mexico Calling – A Launchpad for Nordic Music in Mexico

Are you an artist from the Faroe Islands, Norway, or Iceland with your sights set on Mexico? Mexico Calling is a unique collaboration between Music Export Norway, Faroe Music Export, and Iceland Music - with generous support from Nordisk Kulturfund and LiveMX - aimed at giving artists from these countries the best possible entry into one of the world’s most vibrant and fastest-growing music markets. Participants will receive support for marketing and promotion around their release and will perform three shows in Mexico City in November. Travel and accommodation costs are included.
About the Mexican music market
Mexico is the world’s 15th-largest music market, with over 85 million active streaming users and a thriving live scene – from major international festivals such as Corona Capital and Vive Latino to legendary venues in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. The market is continually growing, offering more and more opportunities for international artists to reach new audiences.
Mexico Calling offers artists a unique opportunity to take their first steps in this exciting territory, launching a long-term, tailored PR and marketing campaign for the country, supported by live performances in one of the most exciting cities in the world.
Mexico Calling Goals
The project’s goals are to build anticipation for upcoming releases and deliver powerful release shows in Mexico City that strengthen both the music and the artists’ visibility. Participants will gain access to experienced industry professionals, partners, and experts in Mexico. The aim is to secure slots at key Mexican festivals and lay the foundation for further performances, additional releases, and a lasting foothold in the Mexican market.
We are looking for artists ready to invest their time and energy into customised PR and marketing campaigns – and who are committed to building strong connections in Mexico.
If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!
