Classical:NEXT 2025 is now accepting proposals for its upcoming edition, scheduled to take place from May 12-15, 2025, in Berlin, Germany. Classical:NEXT is one of the world’s foremost gatherings for the classical and art music community, and offers a unique platform for music innovators from around the globe to showcase their talent, ideas, and projects.

Iceland Music attends the event annually with a strong delegation of Icelandic musicians, composers, and industry professionals. This year will be no exception, as we continue to strengthen our presence at the event, fostering international collaboration and promoting Icelandic music on the global stage.

Open Call for Proposals

Classical:NEXT 2025 is inviting proposals from classical music professionals. Whether your work is rooted in early music, contemporary pieces, art music or experimental sounds, this is your chance to be part of a cutting-edge event that defines the future of classical music. Proposals can be submitted in four categories:

1. Showcase Concerts:

Ideal for soloists and small ensembles to present new repertoires, innovative approaches, or fresh concert formats.

2. Club Showcase Concerts: 

A nighttime setting for adventurous music performances by soloists, small ensembles, and DJs in a casual, club-style environment.

3. Conference Sessions:

Share your topics, projects, and visions in collaborative formats designed to offer valuable insights and concrete know-how.

4. Project Pitches:

Present your artistic project, large ensemble, or staged production in a quick-fire, 9-minute slot with video and Q&A.

Submissions are open until Friday, October 4, 2024 (midnight CET), via the Classical:NEXT website. A diverse jury of international experts, which changes every edition, will review the proposals to ensure a high-quality, fair, and balanced selection.
