Icelandic Artists, "Top 20 Under 30 - Nordic Music Biz" Winners and Delegates Represent Iceland at By:Larm Music Festival
Iceland Music is heading to By:Larm music festival in Oslo, Norway. By:Larm is a music festival and conference held annually at different locations in Norway. The 27th edition of By:Larm will be held September 12-14th 2024. By:Larm consists of two parts: a festival and a conference. The conference is a meeting place for the Nordic and international music industries. The festival concerts take place at night and are open to the public. Their main focus is to present artists that are on the verge of success, either in their homelands or internationally.
Representing Iceland Music will be María Rut Reynisdóttir and Helena Sif Gunnarsdóttir. They’ll be joined by two of the "Top 20 Under 30 - Nordic Music Biz" winners, Gabríel Ólafsson and Klaudia Gawryluk. To top it all off, the talented sideproject will be hitting the stage on Saturday evening.

The Icelandic electronic trio sideproject will be performing at the festival on September 14th at 21:00, at a venue called Indigo. sideproject's music is characterized by heavy, fast-paced, intricate beats and textured, flowing synths. Stealing from everyone and everywhere, sideproject's music becomes a cryptic mix of electronic influences.

There will be four delegates from Iceland at the festival, including our Top 20 Under 30 - Nordic Music Biz Winners:
- Gabríel Ólafsson is a composer, producer, and founder of the specialized symphony orchestra Reykjavík Orkestra (formerly Reykjavík Recording Orchestra). He played a key role in establishing a state-of-the-art recording studio in Harpa, Iceland's premier concert hall, connecting it to three of Harpa’s main halls. The orchestra has recorded scores for major international clients such as Netflix, Apple TV, Blizzard, EA Games, Deutsche Grammophon, BBC, and Hans Zimmer. In addition to his production work, Gabríel's original compositions, released under Decca/Universal, have garnered over 300 million streams.
- Klaudia Gawryluk is a DJ, promoter, and the founder of Radar, Iceland’s first electronic music club in 20 years. She is the driving force behind event series like "Open Decks" and "Bi*ch Per Minute," which have cultivated a vibrant electronic music scene for young enthusiasts. Radar has become a central hub for Icelandic electronic music, drawing international attention and hosting world-renowned DJs like Marco Bailey and Nina Kraviz. Klaudia’s efforts have revitalized Reykjavik's electronic music scene, making it stronger than it has been in two decades.
- María Rut Reynisdóttir, Director at Iceland Music, María Rut Reynisdóttir has dedicated herself to a career as a cultural manager since 2008, particularly music, formerly serving as the cultural office manager for the City of Reykjavik, project manager for Reykjavik's Music City, managing director of the Icelandic Music Awards, program director of Iceland Airwaves, and Ásgeir's Trausti manager.
- Helena Sif Gunnarsdóttir, Communication Advisor and Content Creator, Helena Sif Gunnarsdóttir started as an intern at Iceland Music while studying Creative Industries at Bifröst University, and now oversees the organisation's social media and playlist management alongside her studies.
