Iceland Airwaves recently announced over 40 new acts for this year's edition, taking place from November 5th–7th. As always, Icelandic music remains close to the heart of the festival, with homegrown talent making up half of the newly announced lineup.
Among those joining the bill are singer-songwriter RAKEL, recipient of the 2025 Iceland Airwaves PLUS Award, and the electro-pop duo SCAM, composed of Herdís Stefánsdóttir and Salka Valsdóttir. The latter will also perform at a special Taste of Iceland and Iceland Airwaves showcase in New York this autumn.
Hip-hop mainstays Úlfur Úlfur, indie-pop outfit Jónfrí, and the folk-inflected trio LÓN all return to the festival. Notable newcomers include Músíktilraunir winners Falinn gjóð, songwriters Bjarni Daníel, Andervel, and Brynja, alongside the distinctive freak-folk sounds of Einakrónu, Spouses, and Marsibil.
Leading the international announcements is the post-punk project Heartworms, who has garnered widespread acclaim in the British music press following last year's debut album, Glutton For Punishment. London band The Itch and alternative soul artist Jamie Woon are sömuleiðis set to take the stage this autumn.
