Atli Örvarsson has won his first BAFTA Award for his music in the Apple TV+ series Silo, created by Graham Yost and based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of novels.

The other nominees in the Original Music – Fiction category are just as impressive as Atli. The nominees were Adiescar Chase for Heartstopper, Blair Mowat for Nolly and Natalie Holt for Loki.
In his acceptance speech, Atli referred to Silo as a dream project and mentioned the claustrophobic Icelandic winters as one reason he managed to pull it off.

Check out his acceptance speech below:

Atli Örvarsson isn't the only Icelander to win a BAFTA for music in a film or TV show. Hildur Guðnadóttir won in 2020 for the Joker soundtrack, and Ólafur Arnalds won in 2014 for Broadchurch.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Atli Örvarsson on this impressive achievement!
