Indie-folk princes Árstíðir have just embarked on a massive European tour following the release of their album Vetrarsól earlier this year. To mark the occasion, they’ve curated a playlist for us — a tribute to the fellow travellers who have accompanied them along the way.

Árstíðir first drew international attention in 2013 with their performance of “Heyr, himna smiður” by Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson. Since then, the band members have regularly worked with a cappella pieces, weaving them into their live shows. Eventually, they decided to record a selection of the works they’ve sung over the years, resulting in Vetrarsól.
