Today, Iceland Airwaves announced new artists for its 25th Anniversary edition, taking place from 7th - 9th November 2024 in Downtown Reykjavik.

Iceland Airwaves Festival is the world’s most northerly music showcase and industry festival, situated halfway between North America and Europe. Iceland Airwaves brings together the country’s brightest emerging musical talent and forward-thinking international acts. Celebrating two and a half decades of bringing Iceland’s thriving creative community together with some of the world’s strongest new music talent, this year’s edition promises to be one of Airwaves’ most exciting to date.

Joining the lineup today are local favourites Spacestation, proud outliers of the city’s rock venues and underground bars with a sound that feels like being on the smoking carriage of a night train from Reykjavik to Berlin, stuck in a Bermuda triangle between cosmic 60's psychedelia, late 70's post-punk, and motorik German krautrock.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sunna Margrét's debut album Finger on Tongue solidified her as one of the most intriguing artists to emerge from the country in recent years. Tipped by BBC 6 Music, The Quietus, Under The Radar and Record Collector - her oddball Icelandic take on trip hop promises a captivating performance.

In addition, one of Iceland’s best kept secrets, Hjálmar will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a performance at Airwaves, combining the sounds of Jamaica with warm, old school reggae sung entirely in Icelandic.
