At Ready, Set, Airwaves, participants will gain insights and practical advice on how to make the most of the opportunities that arise around showcase festivals such as Iceland Airwaves and Bransaveislan.

Showcase festivals play a key role in the international music industry, and Iceland Airwaves is no exception. Each year, the festival attracts dozens—if not hundreds—of representatives from major labels, booking agencies, and other industry sectors, making it one of the most important platforms for Icelandic artists to present their work.

At Ready, Set, Airwaves guests will have the chance to chat with festival organisers, members of the Icelandic music industry, and staff from Iceland Music, who will share their experience and advice on how to use such events as a springboard for new opportunities.

Sindri Ástmarsson has been part of the Iceland Airwaves booking team since 2018. He previously worked for several years as an artist manager and has extensive experience preparing bands for showcase festivals. Sindri regularly attends leading showcase events around the world and has valuable insight into how bookers think, what they look for, and how best to catch their attention.

Soffía Kristín Jónsdóttir has had her fingers in everything music-related since childhood. She studied business at Verzlunarskóli Íslands (The Commercial College of Iceland) and later earned a B.S. degree in Music Business from Full Sail University in the United States.

In 2014, she co-founded Iceland Sync Creative with Steinunn Camilla. The company began primarily as a management agency for Icelandic musicians but has since evolved into a booking agency, record label, publisher, concert promoter, and more.Leifur Björnsson is the Export Manager at Iceland Music. Leifur is an experienced musician, composer, and lyricist with notable projects in music, including performances and songwriting for Klemens Hannigan and Low Roar, as well as composing music for video games such as Death Stranding and television shows on ABC and MTV.
