Iceland Music and MMF Iceland invite anyone interested to join us for talks and a panel discussion about what it means to work in music management in Iceland.
Experienced professionals from the Icelandic music scene will share their insights, and the topic of music management will be explored in depth. We’ll tackle questions such as:
- What does a music manager actually do?
- What’s the difference between a booking agent and a manager?
- How do you become a music manager?
- Who are the key players in the industry, and when do they collaborate—or work independently?
- How does the Icelandic industry compare to the international scene?
- How do music managers earn income?
- What kinds of contracts are typical between artists and managers?
Speakers include María Rut Reynisdóttir, Managing Director of Iceland Music and former manager of Ásgeir Trausti, and Soffía Kristín Jónsdóttir, manager and co-owner of music company Iceland Sync.
After the presentations, a panel discussion will follow, featuring María and Soffía alongside Snorri Ástráðsson, Margrét Ósk, and Árni Þór Árnason.
This event is aimed especially at those considering a career in the field or artists who self manage.
Light refreshments will be served afterward, giving guests a chance to connect and continue the conversation.
