Musicians Úlfur Eldjárn and Julie Trouvé have been selected to take part in a music exchange residency between the cities of Nantes, France, and Reykjavík. The project aims to strengthen ties between the two cities and their music communities, while fostering sustainable collaboration through the power of music and creativity.

The residency offers artists the opportunity to create music in fully equipped studios and rehearsal spaces in both cities. It also provides a unique chance to connect with the local music scene, including fellow artists and music industry professionals.

This exchange residency is a collaborative project between Reykjavík Music City, Nantes, Iceland Music, hafnar.haus, STEF, the Trempo arts collective in Nantes, the French Embassy in Iceland, Alliance Française de Reykjavik, and ARDIAN.

Úlfur Eldjárn is an Icelandic composer and electronic musician who works at the intersection of contemporary and electronic music. His projects are often experimental and diverse, drawing on different media and technologies to create unconventional experiences for audiences. He also composes for film and television and is a member of the legendary Icelandic electro-rock band Apparat Organ Quartet.

Julie Trouvé is a French musician who performs under the artist name Roukie. Her music blends emotional pop with video game aesthetics, using synths, poetic lyrics, and dreamy textures.

As part of the residency, both artists will perform at a concert in Reykjavík later this year. We warmly congratulate them.
