Art Music Denmark, Music Finland, and Iceland Music have announced the launch of Tourbus Nordic, a collaborative, data-driven initiative designed to map out the touring patterns and artists’ connections across the region with the aim to gain a better understanding of artist careers and touring patterns.
Building on a successful pilot in 2025 in Denmark and Sweden the organisations are partnering with the Swedish music data specialists Tourbus AB to grow the project further.
Tourbus Nordic’s mission is to build a digital map of the Nordic music ecosystem. By analysing data collected directly from artist and venue websites the project builds a new insight into how careers develop, who artists work with, and how they move across borders. The result aims to provide a more precise picture of Nordic musical life, informing how we advise artists, design funding programmes, and measure their impact over time.
The data collected is designed to create tangible benefits across the sector:
We look forward to sharing more soon, and showing how touring artists and live venues can use these insights to chart their next steps.
Tourbus Nordic is a partnership between Art Music Denmark, Music Finland and Iceland Music. The project is generously supported by Nordisk Kulturfond.
