Nordic Folk Alliance (NFA) is a showcase festival and music conference bringing together artists, agents, promoters, export offices, and other professionals from the Nordic music industry.
The concert program is held at Palladium Malmö, an established venue in the city. The event is organized by RFoD in close collaboration with Nordic partners and export offices, and runs concurrently with the Malmö Folk Festival.
Previous participants from Iceland include Blood Harmony, Svavar Knútur, Umbra, Lón, Ásta and Ása, Árstíðir, and Brek.
The festival provides selected artists with hotel accommodation during the event and a 2500 SEK performance fee. It is recommended that artists apply for a travel grant from the Music Fund (Tónlistarsjóður); the next application deadline is March 31.
Artists are expected to attend the conference to expand their networks and gain industry insights. The two-day conference covers various topics relevant to the Nordic folk music sector.
