The virtuosos Óskar Guðjóns and Magnús Jóhann recently led the largest Icelandic delegation ever to attend the Jazzahead music festival in Bremen. Representatives of twelve Icelandic projects were present there: Freysteinn, Marey, Mikael Máni, Sunna Gunnlaugs, Ingi Bjarni, Anna Sóley, ADHD, Hist og, MOVE, Ómar Guðjónsson, Silva and Steini, and of course Fermented Friendship – the collaborative project of Óskar and Magnús. They performed at a concert in Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus, organized by Iceland Music in collaboration with our colleagues from Sweden, the Faroe Islands, and Finland.

Today, they’re taking over our “Love Letter” playlist, and you could hardly ask for a better travel companion on a sunny day like we are having here in Iceland—when the sun, our rare friend, shines in all its glory, and we forgive all its past betrayals, though deep down we know it's tragically only a fleeting guest.

The playlist is packed with uniquely Icelandic winter-calypso, beloved campfire songs, and optimistic summer hits, along with just enough eerie detours to keep us firmly grounded and reminds us of the fleeting nature of it all.

Have a wonderful weekend!
