Iceland Airwaves, in collaboration with Iceland Music and Business Iceland, has announced its participation in the SXSW festival in Texas this March. The Iceland Airwaves showcase will feature beloved singer-songwriter Elín Hall, experimental pop artists Lúpína and Sunna Margrét, and irreverent indie band Superserious - all of whom performed at the Iceland Airwaves festival last Novembe

Iceland Airwaves needs little introduction in Iceland, but the festival, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, has long been one of the most important platforms for Icelandic musicians to showcase their talent—both domestically and to the large number of international industry professionals who attend the festival each year. The festival's global significance is reflected in its ongoing collaboration with SXSW but SXSW, held annually in Austin, the capital of Texas, is regarded as one of the largest and most important showcase festivals and conferences in the world.

The concert will take place on Tuesday, March 11, at Shangri La, a vibrant venue in the lively east side of the city. Before the concert, Record in Iceland will host a reception for guests at the same location.
