Iceland Airwaves has revealed the first wave of artists set to perform at this year’s festival, taking place in Reykjavík from November 6–8. This first announcement places a strong focus on Iceland’s vibrant music scene, with 19 of the 35 announced acts hailing from Iceland.

Spotlight on Icelandic Talent

As always, Iceland Airwaves is committed to showcasing the freshest and most exciting names in Icelandic music, from established legends to emerging artists.

This year’s diverse lineup highlights some of Iceland’s most exciting new voices, including lúpína, Sunna Margrét, and superserious, all of whom will also be traveling to Austin, Texas this March to perform at the Iceland Airwaves showcase at SXSW.

Iceland’s thriving rap scene will also be well represented, with performances from Daniil, Floni, Saint Pete, and Izleifur.

Beyond that, the festival welcomes a wide range of Icelandic sounds, from the high-energy electro-pop of Milkywhale and the arctic-beachvibes of Kári Egils, to gugusar’s dark yet danceable beats, irresistible singer-songwriter Elín Hall and the genre-defying talents of Magnús Jóhann. Also on the lineup are the experimental noise-punk of Tófa, beloved indie band Valdimar, Snorri Helgason’s folk-infused soul-pop, the industrial soundscapes of Hasar, and the delicate candlelit tones of Jelena Ciric.

Rounding out the Icelandic artists are DIY-pop duo KUSK + Óviti and Freak-Folkers Emma, ensuring a festival brimming with homegrown talent.

International Highlights

Among the international acts set to perform is ian, a rapper from Dallas, USA, who made a major breakthrough in 2024 with his mixtape Valedictorian. The release went viral across social media, solidifying him as one of hip-hop’s most exciting new voices. His track Magic Johnson has already surpassed 100 million Spotify streams.

UK singer-songwriter Kenya Grace, best known for her hit Strangers—one of TikTok’s most-played tracks last year—is also on the bill. Joining her is London-based band Fat Dog, who have gained a reputation for their wild live shows and received critical acclaim for their debut album WOOF, released last year.
