The Iceland Eco-Business Park and Thermal Beets Records host a press conference to announce a letter of intent for the startup company to open its factory next year in Suðurnes at the massive industrial park under construction near Keflavik International Airport.

The result will be the first records labelled “MADE IN ICELAND” to produced locally since the mid-1980s when the short-lived Alfa ceased operating. Thermal Beets will bring further innovation to Iceland by manufacturing 100% fossil-fuel-free records made from sugar beets and starches instead of the industry standard of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a toxic substance.
