Iceland Music Is Coming to Egilsstaðir on October 21st!

Iceland Music, in collaboration with Austurbrú, is hosting an educational event in Egilsstaðir to introduce its operations, as well as the services and support available to musicians and others working in the Icelandic music industry. Additionally, there will be a presentation on reimbursements for music recording in Iceland, Record in Iceland, and the Music Fund, which Iceland Music administers on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs.

Program:

Iceland Music: Among its roles is promoting and supporting Icelandic music internationally, connecting Icelandic musicians with foreign markets, and providing advice and support to musicians and others working in the Icelandic music sector. Information at www.icelandmusic.is

Music Fund: The fund provides grants to Icelandic musicians and projects with the aim of supporting the development of the music industry, supporting music releases, performances, and the promotion of Icelandic music both domestically and internationally. Record in Iceland: Musicians can apply for a refund, from the Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs, for costs incurred when recording music in Iceland. At least 80% of the costs must have been incurred in Iceland, and it is possible to apply for a refund of 25% of the total cost. Information at https://www.record.iceland.is/
