Last year, YAIC explored the latest digital business developments and investment available in music, media and arts. This year, You Are In Control coincides with Reykjavík International Film Festival and Nordisk Panorama. 

Iceland Airwaves 09 Goes Ahead!
Iceland Airwaves crowd shotIceland Airwaves will happen again this October and will as per usual feature lots of cool musicians and a whole lot of good old-fashioned drunken debauchery. This is of course great news: the Iceland Airwaves festival has provided us with some truly amazing times over the last decade, and the awesome music scene now raging all over the country truly deserves a festival in its honour.

Jóhann Jóhannsson Tour Dates + Ltd. Ed. CD
Jóhann JóhannssonJóhann Jóhannsson is touring the US east coast this month for the first time, and to celebrate, a special CD will be released of Jóhann´s award-winning score for Marc Craste´s acclaimed animated film Varmints. The CD, “And in the endless pause, there came the sound of bees”, is released in a limited edition of 1000 copies and will only be available for sale on the tour.

Hafdís Huld - New Single + Tour Dates
Hafdís HuldPop sensation Hafdís Huld, currently on tour in the UK, is to release a brand new single "Könguló" this month. The up-beat, percussion-driven track, released on Hafdós’s own label is based on Frenchman Alain Robert, known as the ‘human spiderman’ (Könguló is the Icelandic word for spider), who climbs skyscrapers using just his bare hands. Sunna Gunnlaugs - Exclusive US Shows
Sunna Gunnlaugs album coverJazz pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs will be appearing in three cities in the US to promote her album "Songs from Iceland" as well as preparing for a new recording with her quartet. Her mini tour will take in Virginia Beach, Washington DC and New York City. Her album "Songs from Iceland" is now available on iTunes as well as on Sunna's website (www.sunnagunnlaugs.com) and digstation.com. One minute they bathe the listener in waves of melancholic, drifting soundscape with haunting lyrics from the  tonsils of front man Biggi.
