Steed Lord @ SXSW
Steed Lord have just returned from a very successful SXSW trip. After playing a showcase gig at Elysium and another at Loose Canvas, they managed to conjure up radio and press interviews - and signed a licensing deal with Ed Banger records for one of their tracks (for a compilation release from the label).
“This deal is major news for the band as Ed Banger is without a doubt one of the leading labels within our genre,” says band spokesperson Róbert Magnússon. “We met the whole Ed Banger crew, who were extremely excited about the whole thing and finalized the deal at the festival. They came specially to our gig to check us out!”
The band also report receiving interest from EMI representatives and the owner of DIM MAK records in the U.S, a very big player in alternative electronic music. And most recently the band received an email from One Love / Band Room records who handle all major tours around Australia for electronic bands.
One love / Band Room were suitably impressed with Steed Lord’s show, stating” "We were blown away by their show and their amazing sound - on such a small PA they had the room absolutely pumping. They have something really special going on." One Love / Band Room are also interested in releasing Steed Lord’s album in Australia.
