Elíza Newman joins Effective Music

Icelandic singer-songwriter Elíza Geirsdóttir Newman has signed a publishing deal with UK label Effective Music. The agreement includes Elíza’s two first solo records. The first album “Empire Fall” was released last year and received positive reviews in Britain and elsewhere while the second is scheduled for release next year.

Elíza met with representatives of Effective Music at the You Are in Control conference that was created and organized by Iceland Music Export (IMX) in Reykjavík in October. Elíza also caught the record label’s attention while performing at the Trúbatrix Festival in Reykjavík last month.

Aside from signing the agreement with Effective Music, Elíza also performed an unplugged concert at London’s Electro Acoustic Club, premiering some new songs. You can read recent interviews with Eliza here and here.
