Two New Trad Music Releases!

Calling all Icelandic traditional music fans! The Iceland Music Information Centre (ITM) are to publish two new CDs this year. The first features 19 solo songs by Jórunn Viðar, Iceland´s first female composer who turned ninety in 2008. This CD contains artsongs as well as folksongs arrangements performed by Helga Rós Indriðadóttir soprano with pianist Guðrún Dalía Salómonsdóttir.

The second CD is entitled Life & Lyrics, and contains 25 solo songs, a selection spanning the gamut of Icelandic folk music, performed by baritone Sigurður Bragason with pianist Hjálmur Sighvatsson. Both CDs include booklets with explanations and texts translated into several languages.
