Toggi - Wonderful Secrets

Top Icelandic singer/songwriter Toggi is back with a new album, Wonderful Secrets, and it certainly takes a different direction to his melodic 2006 debut album Puppy.
Wonderful Secrets packs a hefty punch and is crammed with humour, dynamism and some dark themes such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, insecurites, death and the Icelandic economic crisis.
Toggi is well known in Iceland for his songwriting skills; after the release of Puppy, Toggi collaborated with Iceland's gay disco icon Páll Óskar, writing two songs on Óskar's platinum-selling 2007 album Allt fyrir Ástina. Indie stars Hjaltalín covered one of those songs: Þú komst við hjartað í mér, and the track was awarded the Song Of The Year honour at the Icelandic Music Awards.
Wonderful Secrets was released in Iceland on November 4th along with a 12-song digital album titled Private Confessions & Clumsy Poetry, consisting of acoustic versions of popular songs, demos and b-sides. It is available for international download at toggi.bandcamp.com.
