Dad Rocks! - Mount Modern
January 30, 2012 at 2:01pm
Mount Modern is the sparkling, original debut concept album from Dad Rocks! - aka Mimas frontman Snævar Njáll Albertsson - and it has already been hailed as an 'album of the year' by respected sites including Drowned In Sound and the 405. It is a compelling release, crammed with humour (the closing track is titled 'Pants', for example) personal themes, such as fatherhood, and lavish arrangements.
Mount Modern follows up Albertsson's EP 'Digital Age', and features a guest appearance from Broken Social Scene's Charles Spearing on the track 'Weapons'. The album was released on the British indie label Big Scary Monsters in November 2011, and will be released by Japanese label Friend Of Mine on February 1st 2012.
The release can be purchased from the Dad Rocks! bandcamp site here, where you can also hear the title track. Prepare to fall in love..
