Hjálmar - IV - Borgin

It is seldom that a bulk of a nation awaits a new album release with such excitement as the fourth Hjálmar album, IV.  Make no mistake that Hjálmar are in demand, their soothing yet uplifting song combination of reggae and traditional Icelandic pop elements has for years now served as the Valium for the masses, the get-away from the drab reality of 9-to-5’s. 

Their popularity grew fast with the release of their 2004 debut album, Hljóðlega Af Stað, and they’ve maintained this popularity with tight live shows and 3 LP’s, all very well received by critics and music shoppers and all of them receiving a gold record award. It’s now 5 years later and IV is a reality.

IV was recorded partly in Tuff Gong and Harry J studio in Jamaica where Hjálmar teamed up with local reggae legends such as Cat Coore, Robbie Lyn and Dean Fraser who all make their unique mark on the album.
