Winnipeg's Icelandia Fest Cometh!

Winnipeg's New Music Festival: Icelandia is coming up this February - and it features a raft of Icelandic musical mavericks, including Sigur Ros' Kjartan Sveinsson, Atli Heimir Sveinsson, composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (pictured), Atli Ingólfsson and Bedroom Community artists Valgeir Sigurðsson, Nico Muhly and Daníel Bjarnason.
On February 1st, the Centennial Concert Hall will host the North American premieres of Bjarnason's Bow To String, Sigurðsson's stunning Dreamland and the Canadian premiere of Kjartan Sveinsson's Credo, while February 3rd sees the world premiere of Jóhannsson's A Prayer for the Dynamo, commissioned specifically by the WSO.
Artists include the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Alexander Mickelthwate (conductor), Prairie Voices; Vic Pankratz (director) and Shauna Rolston (cello).
