Study Shows Airwaves Growth

The latest IMX Report of Iceland Airwaves has been published, and shows that expenditure of foreign festival guests has increased by an impressive 54 per cent since 2010.
Attendance has risen by 30 per cent - attracting 6862 attendees in 2011 - leading to this increased turnover. On average, festival guests have also been staying one night longer to enjoy the event and the delights of Reykjavik.
And Airwaves continues to bring in new festival-goers - around 83 per cent of respondents to the survey were visiting the festival for the first time.
