Sigur Rós Want YOU For Film Experiment

June 26, 2012 at 10:24pm

Sigur Rós are inviting fans to take part in their film experiment for new album 'Valtari'; the winning film-maker will be awarded a $5000 prize!

As you will know, if you keep your beady eye on the Iceland Music Export site (that's here, by the way), the band recently launched a 'mystery film experiment' in conjunction with their new release, inviting an array of respected directors to create a music video, all using the same small budget, set to a track from 'Valtari'. The results so far have been highly creative and diverse, and have certainly got people talking. You can see the videos here.

And now you, yes YOU, can get in on the action and make your own short film to go with your favourite 'Valtari' track. According to the band's website, 'the brief is completely open for entrants to take inspiration from the world around them to devise and execute a masterpiece.'

The winning video will receive an official place - alongside all the other creative artists and directors - in the mystery film experiment pantheon showcased on the front page of sigur-ros.co.uk. The winning film maker/director will also receive a $5,000 cash prize.
