Olafur Arnalds Signs With CAA

April 14, 2011 at 10:00am

Olafur Arnalds has recently signed a deal with one of Hollywood's top talent agencies, Creative Arts Agency. The signing follows Arnald's score for the movie Another Happy Day (by Sam Levinson, starting Ellen Barkin, Kate Bosworth, Demi Moore). "CAA's job is to find me projects in the film industry, mostly scores, but also other collaborations," explains Olafur of his new deal. "For me there is no one better than them for this as no-one has as many A- list clients as CAA. In film they've got all the biggest directors, music supervisors and actors - and also bands for that matter, so they are very well connected to deliver some good projects. And they also represent me for touring so it's a great opportunity to step up on that side as well in America."

From CAA's side, they get to bring a dynamic young blood into the film scoring business - someone who is doing something a bit different than other film scorers. And the fact Olafur just wrapped up a highly successful tour of North America in February can't hurt his overseas reputation of course. Currently in LA, Olafur will also play two informal shows on the 13th and 19th of April at the city's Bootleg Theater.
