New Prinspóló Song, Video And Dates

January 20, 2012 at 3:28pm

That splendid musical madcap Prinspóló has released a new song - 'Föstudagsmessa' (Friday mass) - the first new Prinspóló release since his debut album 'Jukk' in June 2011.

The song was co-produced by Arni+1 from FM Belfast, and comes complete with a video directed by Berglind Hasler and the Prins himself.

Prinspóló muses on his latest creation: "The song most likely does not make sense to you, since it is in Icelandic, and the video might not either, since it is "special". The song is about the place you don't want to be at. For example a dark and dirty nightclub where everybody is pretending to have fun and everything is great.

"The video brings that idea, to pretend everything is great when it isn't, to another level and tries to make it fit to an idea of a focal point and surroundings. Like when traveling and you have your picture taken in front of a historical building, which is the focal point, you or the building?"

Good question! While you ponder on that, you can hear and indeed download 'Föstudagsmessa' here on Gogoyoko.

Here are some live dates coming up in February for Prinspóló. Don't miss him and his merry band if you are going to By:Larm!
