Björk Teams Up With NYPL PLUS 'Later' DVD

Björk is collaborating with the New York Public Library (NYPL) and the Children's Museum of Manhattan to bring a free interactive educational programme based on her 'Biophilia' apps to children in Harlem and the Bronx.
The programme begins in July and the two aforementioned branches of the NYPL will offer five weeks of Biophilia-based education aimed at middle school-age kids. The classes will expand to additional branches in September and October and there is no limit to the number of pupils.
Also, from July 6 to December 30, the Children's Museum of Manhattan will host daily drop-in sessions for children ages 3 to 11, including summer camps and school groups.
"It's not a bookish thing, you cannot learn to make music from a book," Björk said. "There are things you can only learn from books, but it's also important to introduce the physical aspects. So for me, it was very important to make, somehow, music education that was physical.
"I'm so honoured that the New York Public Library and Children's Museum of Manhattan are up for this. I've spent four years on Biophilia, and these are dream homes for the project."
And in other Björk news, on June 18th the singer, who just received an Artist Of The Year Webby award, will be releasing a DVD of some of her finest performances on the BBC music show 'Later... With Jools Holland', from 1995 to 2011. The DVD will be released through Disco Naivete and here is the track-listing:
