Kiriyama Family is an electro pop quintet based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Although their main direction is electric based indie pop/rock, inspiration comes from a broad spectrum of other musical genres.

Four members of the band regularly switch instruments in order to shake things up, that's what you get when you form a band with four multi-instrumentalists. The instruments are, thankfully, brotherly shared and no tears have been shed, yet.

Kiriyama Family are:

Johann Vilbergsson: Vocal, guitar, bass and synths.

Karl M. Bjarnarsson: Vocal, guitar, bass and synths.

Vidir Björnsson: Guitar, bass and synths.

Gudmundur Geir Jonsson: Guitar, bass and synths.

Bassi Olafsson: Drums, percussion.

The band was formed in 2008 by Johann, Karl and Vidir. Other duties and one member flying off to Sweden (allofasudden) in late 2008 to study, caused a semi-stop in collaboration between the three friends. Rehearsals resumed in the beginning of 2010 now with Bassi and Gudmundur on board.

In 2011 Kiriyama Family plans to release their first album along with doing lots of performing and touring.
