Alda Björk Ólafsdóttir

As a teenager Alda moved from her native Iceland to Stockholm, Sweden where she decided to make music her life. After a few months of singing lessons and participation in various talent competitions she joined a working cabaret band from Bulgaria with whom she travelled across Scandinavia for two years before moving back to Iceland. Back in Iceland Alda was in various bands and made some very successful records, mainly with her very good friend Sverrir Stormsker. Two years later she decided to expand her possibilities as an artist so she moved to London where she met up with writer/producer Malcolm Meyher. After some years of making demos they signed to Jive Records and Zomba Music publishing, however this was a short lived affair and Alda was quickly there after signed to a new record company that had just been created by Capital Radio and Telstar Records. Her debut single released by Wildstar entered at number 7in the UK singles chart followed by Girls Night Out that entered at number 20 Christmas week. Alda is now working with various producers and labels across the world and has several releases planned in 2011 in the styles of House/Dance/Chill Out and Lounge.
