| Event Info: | The music event in Thjorsarver is a three-night music event held at The Cultural centre of Thjorsarver in mid October every year. The main purpose of the event is to give the people that live in the southern part of the country a way to experience different types of music, as well as to give new artists the opportunity to perform. |
| Event History: | The event was held for the first time in 2001. The founder of the festival is Valdimar Ossurarson in cooperation with Ingi Heidmar Jonson and Kristjan Gestsson. The first artists to perform were Gunnar Gunnarsson pianist and Tomas R. Einarsson contra bass player and songwriter. They came back the following year with the singer, Kristjana Stefansdottir. Other performers that have attended and performed at the festival are K.K,Ragnheidur Grondal,Johann Fridgeir Magnusson and Guitar Islandico as well as many others. |
