JEA is a unique festival in the east past of Iceland and is 20 years old
this year! The program is great:

Draumar/dreams is a dance and music suite performed 1 km inside a mountain. Something you have never seen before.

Larry Carlton with special guest Laurie Wheeler! This legendery guitarist has performed with them all! Sammy Davis, Jr., Herb Alpert, Quincy Jones, Paul Anka, Donald Fagen, Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Billie Joel, Jerry
Garcia, Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, Lee Ritenour, Steve Lukather to name a few.

Bláir Skuggar.
A great band with Icelands best musicians. Jazzy blues in the only real jazzklub in Iceland.

Beady Belle.
This band from Norway has toured with Jamie Cullum and they are a just fabulous in consert.

Bloodgroup is a band from east-Iceland and they dont play jazz! They are located in Berlin for the summer and go straight to Roskilde festival to
play there after JEA.

Event History:The first JEA festival was held on June 23 1988. The festival is the longest running jazzf estival in Iceland. Árni Ísleifs is the godfather of JEA and he was the director until 2006. Many great musicans have performed at JEA. Svend Asmussen, Peter Gullin, Paul Weeden, Finn Ziegler, Mezzoforte, Deitra Farr, James Carter and many more. Also nearly every Icelndic musician that plays good music. The festival is rising and has been getting bigger and bigger for some years now.
