"The four-day festival, runs the second weekend in June; now from June 7th-10th.
It starts on Thursday, June 7th at 8.30 p.m. with an opening concert at Skjolbrekka where the participating choirs perform. Friday, June 8th the workshops starts and at 8.30 p.m. all the choirs perform in the mountain hall at Laxá Power Station.
The festival’s finale – the performance of Mass of the Children from John Rutter and World Music from 7 Countries, takes place on Sunday, June 10th at 3 p.m.

Event History:A 120-voice women chorus, The Girls choir of Akureyri Church and 80 singers from a mixed Choir, along with the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra and two soloists, will perform at the annual choral music festival at Lake Myvatn, Sunday, June 10th at 3 p.m. Four Icelandic women choirs participate in the festival this year, in addition to the mixed choirs and the girls choir. Conductors are: Lynnel Joy Jenkins, USA (women’s choir) and Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson, conductor of the North Iceland Symphonic Orchestra.
