Founded as a pre-independence day party band on the 16th of june, 2003, Hraun has developed rapidly into a probe of the human condition. Surfing on the emotional tides of songwriter Svavar Knútur and his fellow bandmembers, the band's music can best be described as Mood Swing. A Hraun concert will typically swing from dark melancholy, sadness and longing to alchohol driven fury and oblivious joy. Hraun's debut Album "I Can't Believe It's Not Happiness" is the first part of a three album exploration of a journey from loss and regret to happiness.
