Born in Australia but a resident of Iceland, composer and producer Ben Frost operates primarily within Reykjavik's Greenhouse Studios, often under the wing of producer and founder of the Bedroom Community label Valgeir Sigurdsson.
His latest album "Theory of Machines" (March, 2007) is his first release for BC, and fully exploits the sonic resources of this unique environment with collaborators such as Valgeir and Sigtryggur Baldursson (The Sugarcubes).
At 26, Frost has already released such critically-lauded works as 2003's guitar exploration LP, "Steel Wound" (on Room40) and the harrowing, self-titled 2005 opus "School of Emotional Engineering," which Db Magazine called "...an atmospheric masterpiece."
In addition to his record releases, Frost produces gallery-based installations, scores for film, dance and multimedia productions (including commissions for The Icelandic Dance Company and work with A/V installation collective Cicada), plus collaborative works, remixes and product
