Ultra Mega Technobandið Stefán - Circus - UMTS

Ultra Mega Technobandið Stefán can be described as a somewhat unique phenomenon. They started playing sometime in 2006 and within months had taken Iceland by storm, appearing on both television and radio after they came runner-up in the national Battle of the Bands.
 
Known for their over the top stage performances and commanding presence, the band have already ascended to stardom and infamy in their native Iceland and have started conquering the world.
 
They have, for example, played in all the big cities of Europe among bands like Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers. Circus, their debut album, Circus sees the band move away from their techno-party-punk roots in the direction of more concept driven, psychedelic tunes.
 
The band has described the album as “Sex Pistols strangling Jean Michel Jarre with Nintendo controllers” and is a sprawl of synths, bass and drums, a veritable volcano explosion that spews forth energy, hysteria and chaos. Grab it while it’s hot…
