Storme Whitby-Grubb - Tour Manager
Storme started her working life at Fat Cat Records in 1999, then home to Sigur Rós, as an office assistant. After getting restless in London she moved to Reykjavik as PA to Sigur Rós & somewhat shockingly became the day to day label manager for Smekkleysa Records at the request of Ásmundur Jónsson. Things didn't stop there, when renowned Einar Örn put her in a headlock until she agreed to take over as PR manager for Iceland Airwaves, due to various international press pieces and profile rasising she had managed for Smekkleysa acts like Mínus.
After two years in the uppermost parts of the northern hemisphere, she moved back to London only to be whisked off on tour as a merchandiser for icelandic band múm. This lead to a career in touring, first selling merchandise around the world for the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, The Rapture and then on to the break she'd been eagerly waiting for, Assistant Tour Manager for Kaiser Chiefs. The touring bug set in and Storme progressed into a tour manager in her own right for the likes of The Datsuns, We Are Scientists & CSS. Her biggest feat to date was as Production Manager for Bloc Party on a world wide tour througout 2007, which ended in a home coming arena tour of the UK.
Storme has been interviewed for various pieces on Women in the music industry in the past, including a great feature in The Guardian Newspaper in 2007 conveniently entitled "Women who lug".
