Ólafur Arnalds is a new and upcoming Icelandic solo-artist combining classical instrumentation with indie-rock aesthetic and electronica. Having grown up within Iceland's DIY punk-rock scene, Ólafur now faces interest from the world's major labels.
Within 6 months from the release of his debut album, Eulogy for Evolution, Ólafur Arnalds has gone from playing pub shows for 50 people to headlining Barbican Hall in London for over 900 people. He is Signed to the UK indie label, Erased Tapes Records and the German Progression Records and has gained world-wide success faster than any other Icelandic artist we've seen.
Between shows in a very intense tour schedule, Ólafur is working on his 2nd full length, scheduled for release in May 2009.
